Two JHU Students Awarded NIH Undergraduate Scholarships

Two Johns Hopkins University students were awarded prestigious NIH Undergraduate Scholarships for the 2016-2017 cycle. George Mwinnyaa and Duy Phan represent two of the fifteen total awards offered.

George Mwinnyaa is a rising senior public health studies major, who plans to become a public health responder for infectious diseases. Recently George’s story was featured on HUB.

Duy Phan is a rising junior majoring in neuroscience. He plans to become a MD researcher, studying and developing treatments for brain disorders. Read more about Duy in the recent HUB article.

In addition to $20,000 a year towards undergraduate tuition, they will have a paid internship at NIH over the summer of 2017 and future employment at NIH upon the completion of their undergraduate degrees.
