Scott Spier, M.D.
Dr. Spier received his BA from Brown University, his MD from the University of Maryland, and trained in Psychiatry at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. After performing a National Health Service Corps assignment on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, he was Director of Outpatient Psychiatry at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he continues to teach psychopharmacology.
Since the late 1980’s, he has maintained a private practice at Mercy Medical Center, and served as Mercy’s Chief Medical Officer from 1998 until 2017.
After stepping down from that administrative position in September, Dr. Spier has been expanding his private practice, and is very happy to be providing consulting services at the JHU Counseling Center.
