Andrew Wilson, PhD

Dean of Academic and Student Services

Andrew Wilson is the Dean of Academic and Student Services at Johns Hopkins University, a position he has held since April 2015. Dr. Wilson leads programs and services to provide undergraduate and graduate students with foundational resources (e.g., housing, dining) as well as areas that maximize students’ potential for lifelong success (e.g, civic engagement, success coaching, new student orientation, family engagement). During his tenure at Johns Hopkins, he has led initiatives related to strengthening students’ experiences including the creation of the Center for Student Success, reimagining Integrative Learning and Life Design, leveraging campus housing and dining to foster a vibrant learning community, and creating and executing guidance services for first-generation and limited-income students. He also serves on the faculties of the Whiting School of Engineering and the School of Education focusing on leading change, crisis leadership, and gifted education.

Dr. Wilson has held senior leadership and faculty appointments as well as consulting and board roles for numerous organizations both inside and outside higher education with an expertise in organizational psychology, gifted and talented education, as well as peer relationships. An author of more than 25 articles and book chapters, he is a member of the American Psychological Association and holds a PhD in counseling and human development.
