Irene Ferguson, Ed.D.
Associate Dean, Center for Student Success
Dr. Irene Ferguson has served as a student affairs administrator for more than 25 years at both public and private institutions of higher education. She began her tenure at Johns Hopkins in 2010 as director for the Office of Multicultural Affairs. In her current role as associate dean for the Center for Student Success, Dr. Ferguson provides leadership for programs that support students’ holistic college experiences through coaching, mentoring, and community-building initiatives that tie together students’ academic experiences and co-curricular engagement. Specific programs she is responsible for include the Johns Hopkins Underrepresented in Medical Professions (JUMP), Hop-In (first-generation and limited income students), Second Year Student Experience, and programming for designated Hopkins Scholars. Dr. Ferguson is from Indianapolis, Indiana and earned her M.S. in counseling and educational psychology and Ed.D. in higher education from Indiana University, Bloomington IN.
