Dr. Brent Mosser
Director of Student Disability Services
Dr. Brent Mosser has worked in higher education for 14 years, all in academic support. He graduated from Penn state with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, but became interested in a career in education shortly thereafter. He worked as a high school physics teacher for two years and then left for a Masters program in Student Affairs at Kutztown University (PA). He was employed as Associate Director of two different learning centers – West Chester University (PA) and Ohio State University – before earning his Ph.D. in Higher Education at the latter institution. He began work at Johns Hopkins in October 2010, directing the Offices of Academic Support and Student Disability Services in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, while serving as Academic Advisor to 50 freshmen in that School. He transitioned to Homewood Student Affairs in September 2012 as this campus’s first professional staff member charged solely with directing services for students with disabilities. He resides in a northern suburb of Baltimore and has been married since Summer 2006. He has two children: a 4 year old boy and a 6 year old girl.
