Reporting a Concern

Families and Friends

If you are concerned about a student’s health or behavior, please complete a HopReach Report or call the Office of the Dean of Students at 410-516-8208. We would be happy to assist you. A case manager will respond to a report within 1-2 business days.


If you are a faculty member concerned about a student, please log into Blackboard and click the Starfish tab to raise a flag on a student. Once you are in Starfish, please do the following:

  1. Click on the “Students” tab
  2. Type in the student’s last name
  3. Click on their name
  4. Click on the “Raise a Flag” button
  5. Select one of the flags (either academic or social in nature)

For more instructions or further help, please visit the Starfish Help Site. Please note that you are only connected to your advisees and students currently enrolled in your courses. For concerns about any other student, please complete a HopReach Report.
