What is an FYM?
First-Year Mentors, better known as FYMs, are a critical component of the OFYE structure. FYMs provide year-round peer-to-peer support to ensure the successful transition of all new students into the Johns Hopkins University community. They are responsible for orienting and mentoring a cohort of 15-20 students in their first year at Hopkins. FYMs are trained to provide guidance and support around a range of topics including, but not limited to academic, and support, student clubs and organizations, and campus resources. Our FYMs were in the same shoes only a year or so ago, and they’re ready to answer any question you may have coming onto campus for the first time!
