Registration and Logging Service Hours

Getting Started

Participants must create a Track it Forward account and indicate participation in HopServe50. Service hours must be completed and logged in Hopkins Engage, powered by GivePulse, during the HopServe50 time period specified here.

There are a few different steps that participants need to complete in order to participate in HopServe50! This process only takes a few minutes to complete, so get started!

  • Step 1: Update your profile on Hopkins Engage so you can begin logging and tracking your service hours.
  • Step 2: Download the free GivePulse mobile app so you can log your service hours anywhere, anytime!
    • To find the app, simply search in the app store for “givepulse” and download the GivePulse app.

Step 1: Submit CSC’s Waiver of Liability

All students who participate in any CSC Program, including HopServe50, are required to submit the CSC’s Waiver 0f Liability.

Step 2: Login and Update your Hopkins Engage Profile

Hopkins Engage is the university’s community engagement platform and is the system that the CSC uses to track service hours. This is the only way we can verify your participation community engagement participation so make sure you log your hours frequently.

It will literally take you 2-3 minutes to login with single sign on and update your profile. Follow the step-by-step directions below for more assistance.

  1. Click Log In in the upper right hand corner
  2. Click Log in via JHU
  3. Enter your JHU email address and password
  4. Click the box in the upper right hand corner and start updating your profile!

We encourage you to log your hours weekly! You can view a running count of your service hours by clicking My Activity > Impacts any time. If you’d rather log your hours via the Track it Forward mobile app, see Step 3 below.

Step 3: Download Free GivePulse Mobile App

  • To download the mobile app, just go to the App Store or Google Play and search for “Track it Forward” or “Volunteer Time Tracking” and you’ll find it!

  • NOTE: you must create a “Track it Forward” Profile before you can download the mobile app.
  • Once you download the app, enter your “email address” and “password” that you used during your initial Track it Forward registration.
  • Every time you complete a service or activity, simply submit the “hours”, “date”, “organization or affiliation” through the mobile app.
  • You can also enter any additional information (i.e. name of organization you worked with and other details in the “notes” field.
    • Example: Volunteered at My Sister’s Place Lodge and helped serve food.
  • Get involved and start tracking your hours!

Final Step: Participate in Reflection

Step 3: Participate in Written Reflection

Participants are strongly encouraged to reflect on their experience and submit a written reflection during HopServe50. Whether you are participating in the HopServe50 program (50 hours of service for HopServe50) or HopServe50 Plus (100 hours of service) join other students and submit a written reflection before May 3, 2019 at 11:59 PM.

Note: in the application, there is a short reflection essay (200-750 words) that asks you to describe and reflect on your HopServe50 experience.

The Center for Social Concern will notify you if you have achieved HopServe50 and email you with End of Year Celebration information. Don’t miss out!
