David Mellinger, MD
David Mellinger started working at JHU’s Student Health and Wellness Center in August 2017. He grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Swarthmore College, graduating with a BA in Chemistry in 1984. After teaching chemistry at a private school in Richmond VA, he enrolled in medical school at the University of Virginia, graduating in 1991. He completed a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin in 1994 and started to work in the field of college health in 1996. His main clinical interests are in men’s health, travel medicine and general primary care. He has a particular expertise in the management of patients with Type 1 diabetes and has spent many years educating medical students and residents at a few different institutions.
In his free time he likes to travel, enjoys playing many different sports, and spending time in the outdoors.
