Johnette Jabbie, MS

Insurance and Referral Outreach Specialist

Johnette Sandy (she/her/hers) joined the JHU Counseling & Student Health Centers in 2018 as the Insurance and Referral Outreach Specialist. In her role, she primarily assists international and graduate students navigate their insurance plans, and provides outreach programming to students related to their Student Health Insurance Plan. Johnette also assists students in identifying off-campus provider resources for more specialized care in physical and mental health.

Johnette earned her M.S. degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College in Pennsylvania. Johnette has professional experience working in the child welfare sector assisting children, adolescents, and young adults with histories of trauma, abuse, and neglect. She also has experience working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting, conducting preliminary assessments and serving as the first point of contact for insurance verification and authorization.

She enjoys travelling and has professional interests in providing global outreach to individuals in diverse and under-served populations. She is excited about her role her at JHU and hopes to utilize her skills to make the academic experience more manageable for students.
