Judson Garrett

Academic Advisor/Success Coach, KSAS

With 15+ years’ experience in academic advising, design thinking, and student success, Judson works with each student to create a personalized learning pathway toward a fulfilling career and a good life through proactive, holistic guidance and support.

A native Baltimorean, Judson graduated from the University of Baltimore with a bachelor’s degree in Government and Public Policy before earning a master’s degree in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Santa Fe. He then spent a decade in Phoenix as a K12 History teacher, varsity soccer coach, and department chair. Judson went on to lead several educational technology startups with an emphasis on inclusive team building and learner-centric design; he returned to higher education as an instructor in the Honors College at Grand Canyon University and University College at Arizona State University.

Judson comes to Johns Hopkins University after serving as a Lecturer and Student Success Coach at Hartwick College in Upstate New York. Beyond academic advising and success coaching, Judson spends his time enjoying live music with friends, playing with his pet, Catsby, and practicing yoga.
