Sherri-Chanelle Brighthaupt, PhD
FLI Initiatives Fellow
Sherri provides support to the FLI Initiatives with a particular focus on the development and repositioning of the FLI Network as the primary communications, community building, and programmatic hub for the FLI community at JHU. Sherri collaborates with all programs across CSS and key campus partners to create initiatives that encourage the overall well-being of FLI students.
A first-generation college graduate, Sherri is a behavioral scientist with strengths in communication, educational instruction, and project implementation. She is committed to the design of health-centered initiatives for underrepresented students and the advancement of trauma-informed teaching and mentoring practices. She brings diverse professional experience from multiple areas including non-profit service, academic research, and student wellness.
Fascinated by behavior and the power of social phenomena, she holds a BA in Psychology from Columbia University and a PhD in Mental Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. A native of Prince George’s county, MD, Sherri enjoys creative writing, dancing, and discovering new hiking trails around the city.
