Tarra Morgan

Assistant Director, First-Year Experience

Tarra joined Johns Hopkins University in March 2019. She spent two years as Program Coordinator supporting the overall programmatic efforts for the Student Transitions and Family Engagement (STFE) portfolio. In that role, she was responsible for providing logistical support for all large and small programs, while helping to manage the budget and streamline processes.

Now serving as the Assistant Director of First-Year Experience, she continues to foster her passion for working in a university setting and helping students thrive both academically and socially. In this role, Tarra is responsible for providing support to all incoming students during their first year and transition to the university. She oversees the First-Year Mentor Program while also building partnerships, programs, and resources to develop, expand, and deepen the First-Year Experience for students.

Originally from Springfield, MA, Tarra earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Howard University. and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College, The Graduate Center, CUNY. She also holds a Professional Certificates in Event Management.

When not in the office, Tarra can be found coordinating a wedding, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
