While the First-Year Banquet is open and free to all first-year students, you must reserve a ticket to confirm your spot and meal. Ticketing opens on Tuesday, February 5 and all ticket-types can be reserved online.
Begun in 2010, the First-Year Banquet has become one of the most highly anticipated traditions among each new class of Blue Jays.
This one-of-a-kind Johns Hopkins tradition allows you to join your fellow Class of 2022 classmates while meeting and connecting with Hopkins faculty and administrators during a formal dining experience. The dinner atmosphere is academic in nature as attendees are required to wear their gowns along with more formal attire. The First-Year Banquet is only open to first-year students and is held every spring.
Students who wish to select with which faculty host they sit can do so by selecting this ticket type. Please note that student seats are limited to 8 per faculty host and are awarded first come, first served. Students will be seated with the faculty host they select, but cannot designate which peers sit at their table.
Friends can ensure they sit together by registering as a table. Students will still be seated with faculty, staff, or administrators, but cannot designate whom specifically. Groups max at 8 people and all tickets must be confirmed at one time.
Students who do not wish to select a table host or pre-determine who they sit with should select individual seating. Students will still be seated with several of their classmates as well as faculty, staff, or administrators, but cannot designate whom specifically.
