The Hopkins Food Pantry is currently open Mondays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Register with PantrySoft, then see a pantry staff member during open hours to be left into the pantry. There is a limit of four shoppers at a time in the pantry. If there are already four shoppers in the pantry, new shoppers must wait in the LaB or get a ticket from a staff member to wait in line
The Hopkins Food Pantry does NOT conduct any background checks of your financial or conduct history. Any individual in the JHU community can access the pantry upon application approval. Shopper privacy is respected.
To meet the needs of as many shoppers as possible, we have a daily limit of two per item per shopper on most of the pantry’s items. Some specialty items have a limit of one per item per shopper and are labelled accordingly; all item limits are posted throughout the pantry.
The pantry should not serve as your primary source for food but rather a helpful supplement. If you have a larger food insecurity or financial concern, please contact Taz Shah, SOS’s Resource Specialist, at tshah7@jhu.edu to get connected to additional resources.
The Hopkins Food Pantry is changing its shopping process to ensure an equitable and easy shopping experience for everyone. Shoppers will now leave the Pantry through the front door and see a Pantry staff member at the desk to confirm items shopped. The check-out process should take 2-4 minutes in total.
The Hopkins Food Pantry offers non-perishable staples, fresh produce, and frozen proteins when available. Because we rely on food bank donations, specific items are not guaranteed. Check out the SOS Instagram page for up-to-date offerings!
The Pantry generally doesn’t accept outside food donations, but you can make a financial donation to support the Food Pantry. There may be volunteer or donation opportunities to support other needs of our shoppers; please contact hopkinsfoodpantry@jhu to inquire about getting involved.
