Emily Niehoff
Assistant Chaplain
Emily Niehoff (she/her) serves as the Assistant Chaplain of Johns Hopkins University Religious and Spiritual Life. Prior to working at Johns Hopkins, Emily worked as a young adult program coordinator for the Austrian Baptist Aid, the Austrian Baptist Union’s Youth and Children’s Department, and at New Road Baptist Church in Oxford, United Kingdom. Originally from New Jersey, Emily has lived, studied, and worked in various contexts all over the world. After receiving her B.F.A. in Creative Technologies from Virginia Tech in 2017, Emily moved to Vienna, Austria to coordinate internship opportunities for young adults from all over the world to assist with Iranian and Afghan refugee integration efforts in Vienna. Graduating at the end of 2023 with a M.Div. in Interfaith Dialogue from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University, Emily is passionate about cross cultural connections and interfaith spaces. in her current role, she assists the chaplain with religious and spiritual programming, student religious and spiritual organizations, and supporting the spiritual well-being of students, staff, and faculty.
