Meredith Harris

Assistant Director, SDS Homewood and SDS Peabody

We are very excited to announce that Meredith Harris is joining the SDS staff on 8/21/23 as the SDS Assistant Director for Peabody/ Homewood. Meredith has been working in the disability field for over 13 years, and her background includes Deaf Studies, vocational rehabilitation, assistive technology, digital accessibility, higher ed accommodations, managing a testing center, and facilitating accommodations for campus events, such as Commencement. She has worked at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, the Maryland School for the Blind, MD’s Division of Rehabilitation Services, and most recently, Towson University. Meredith enjoys working with students with a wide range of disabilities, but at Towson, was the “go-to” person around providing accessibility for students who were blind or had low vision. At Towson, she served as the Assistive Technology Coordinator, providing students with various AT, such as, Glean, Kurzweil, etc. and managing a caseload of students. Meredith also served on many committees in her “free time”, her favorite being the one about branding and messaging.

Meredith received a Master’s degree in Education in Early Childhood Education at Towson University as well as a Certificate in Autism Studies. She also received a Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies and Speech Language Pathology. Baltimore born and raised, she married her best friend, Charlie, and is mom to a 3-year-old girl named Raven – they are huge Baltimore Ravens fans! Pink is her go-to color, and she loves Hello Kitty as well as fun earrings. Please join us in welcoming Meredith!
