Mary Rose Pedron
Associate Director, Multicultural Affairs
Mary Rose Pedron (They/Them) serves as the Associate Director for Multicultural Affairs for the Center for Diversity at The Johns Hopkins University. Over the last several years, they have embodied their personal and professional pedagogy of celebrating identities across differences through working in several student affairs offices related to first year experience, international education, orientation and transition, social equity, LGBTQIA+, and multicultural affairs. Highlights of their career include serving as the inaugural Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion and helping build a Multicultural Center at a small private college in Florida. They are skilled in student leadership development, coalition building, and cultural programming. Mary Rose proudly identifies as a first generation Asian American to Filipino immigrants and a Baltimore local. They received degrees from Towson University (Psychology & Mass Communications B.A.) and Indiana University of Pennsylvania (M.A in Student Affairs in Higher Education). In their spare time, they enjoy hand making cosplays of their favorite fandoms from sustainable materials and exploring new cafes/restaurants – they’ll be happy to recommend a spot in the DMV area!
