Kwame Phillips

Associate Director, Multicultural Affairs

Kwame Phillips is Associate Director for Multicultural Affairs. is responsible for institutional strategies related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging for students with historically underrepresented identities. He leads the Multicultural Affairs team to provide wrap-around support, resources and services to the campus community and marginalized/minoritized populations. Kwame has a decade of professional experience in the academic, non-profit, and DEI spaces —having conducted program design, implementation, and assessment. Proposed recommendations and initiatives to leadership to improve equitable and inclusive practices and outcomes. His professional portfolio includes developing DEI training, participating in strategic planning processes, curating leadership institutes, launching retention and affinity initiatives, and conducting/offering in-service workshops for students and colleagues. In addition to his role, he is the President-Elect for the Black Faculty Staff Association advocating for the needs and issues on behalf of its members.
