Kareen Louis
Associate Director, FLI Network
Kareen is originally from New Jersey and is a proud alumna of Rutgers University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Service and Master’s degree in College Student Affairs. For more than a decade, she has developed programs that enhance the access, retention and academic success of marginalized and first-generation students.
Kareen’s most recent set of experiences is in the University of California system, where she provided counseling and programmatic support to first-generation students in the Educational Opportunity Program. She also served as Assistant Director in the Office of Black Student Development, driving its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Her broad experience also spans roles in Career Services, Residence Life and Admissions.
Kareen is excited to join Johns Hopkins and is especially passionate about mentoring first-generation students as they navigate their academic and personal journey. In her spare time, Kareen prioritizes self-care, wellness, and building community wherever she goes!
