Retreat Sessions:
- Build a Rapport & Strengthen Relationships
To have a friend one must be friendly. We start by showing genuine interest and asking people about things that interest them. Next, we make sure we focus on them as individuals. To do this we must stop, look at them, listen to them and maintain our focus on them despite distractions. Third, we become good conversationalists by letting them do most of the talking. When they answer a question, we look for more information by asking questions such as Who? What? When? Where? Why? And How?As we become more proficient at building relationships, we realize that this model is not a one-time event for each person that we meet. This model provides an ongoing opportunity to know people better and understand what is important to them. - Present Yourself Confidently: Create Your Presence
Whether persuading colleagues, selling a client or energizing a team, the power of a person’s presentation skills can make the difference between success and failure. Image and credibility are very important factors that impact career paths. Most would like to be recognized for their professional competence. Competence is reflected in our appearance, our effectiveness in communicating and our ability to interact with and develop rapport with others.Public speaking is the #1 fear around the world. Yet, the ability to effectively public speak is a necessity as we become subject matter experts in our field or as we grow into various levels of leadership. Learning effective communication skills particularly when public speaking, will provide a solid foundation for leadership opportunities!
