Joe Cautela III

Program Coordinator

Joe Cautela (He/Him) served as one of the graduate coordinators for the Hop-In program summer of 2023 and is thrilled to return to his new home away from home as a Program Coordinator with the FLI Network. As a first-generation college student from Massachusetts, Joe attended Fitchburg State University for his undergraduate studies in History Secondary Education and completed his Master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Salem State University.

During his time at Salem State, Joe worked as a Graduate Resident Director in Residence Life and collaborated with the School of Education to promote diversity in the education pipeline. Outside of his professional pursuits, he is a proud Boston sports fan and enjoys watching TV shows like, “Abbot Elementary,” “Parks and Recreation.” and “Loki.” Joe is also passionate about politics and history.

Starting his higher education career at Johns Hopkins is a full-circle moment for Joe. The mission to support first-generation students in transitioning into college aligns with his own experiences. He is dedicated to empowering and guiding students on their academic journeys and is excited to contribute his expertise to the program.
