Intro to Computer Music

Posted: December 14, 2011
Student editing music on a computer

An Arts Innovation Grant funded this Intro to Computer Music Class, run in the fall of 2011. Taught by Dr. Mark Lackey under the Peabody at Homewood department, the DMC hosted labs for the course. Students learned about the history and aesthetics of computer music and had creative assignments as well.

A student in a sound room sits and plays at a drum set with drum sticks. A student sits back in their chair while at a desk with a laptop and other music and electronic equipment around them. Two students wear headphones while working on laptops independently with an electronic keyboard sitting in front of one of them.
