Sage Magness-Hill (they/them) is an experienced Academic Advisor and Success Coach in KSAS, who has been providing high-touch, holistic student support since 2007. They strongly believe that access and equity should be the foundation of higher education.

Sage grew up in New York City and attended Brenau University Women’s College as a limited-income student, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art. During their undergraduate studies, Sage discovered their passion for student support services and went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in College Student Development on a Chancellor’s Fellowship at Appalachian State University. In their career, Sage has served as a Residence Life Coordinator at Wake Forest University, where they oversaw all first-year residential communities and supported first-generation and limited-income students. Their efforts were recognized in 2017 by the National Association of College and University Residence Halls as one of the top 12 advisors.

Sage joined the SCAA team in 2022 after spending 13 years in residence life and 3 years at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as the Graduate Student Experience Coordinator in the Office of Graduate Biomedical Education. In their free time, Sage enjoys spending time with their wife and three children, traveling, hiking, and being outdoors. A true Taurus, Sage delights in snacks and naps, creating art, working on their house, curating their collection of houseplants, and caring for their three animals: Dolly Rebecca Parton the dog, Zoe Washburn the cat, and Daisy Sparkle the axolotl. Sage is actively involved in giving back to the Baltimore community, serving as the Watershed Public Charter School Board of Directors President, a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, and as a barn volunteer and tour guide at Days End Farm and Horse Rescue.
