Deidre Campbell
Director, JUMP
Deidre was born in the country of Jamaica but raised in Miami, FL. She joined the Blue Jay family in January 2020 as an Assistant Director of Pre-Professional Programs and moved to the Center for Student Success team in July 2023. She earned her bachelor’s in health services administration and master’s in public health with a concentration in Health Policy and Management from Florida International University. Deidre’s career in higher education spans more than 13 years where she served as the Administrative Director of the Resident Scholarly Activity Program and Assistant Director of Pre-Health Programs at the University of Miami before arriving at Johns Hopkins. Throughout her career Deidre has developed research literacy in medical school residency programs and enhanced the health professional portfolios of undergraduate students.
Deidre is passionate about empowering and supporting students pursuing careers in medicine and removing the barriers to entry into the health professions for all students, including students from underrepresented groups and FLI students. She is committed to challenging the status quo, demolishing barriers, and building a future where underrepresented students rise to the forefront of health leadership, bringing unparalleled compassion, resilience, and diversity to the world of healthcare.
Outside of work, Deidre enjoys traveling the world, reading, and spending time with her husband and beloved dog.
