Erica Trainor
Academic Advisor/Success Coach, WSE
Erica (she/her) was born and raised in Montgomery County, MD right outside of Washington, D.C. Living in a multi-generational home taught her the significance of relationships and a strong work ethic. As a first-generation graduate, Erica obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a Master of Science in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University School of Education. Erica became a school counselor at her former high school, where she continued her passion for supporting underrepresented students, especially the Latino/a community. Erica advocated for students using a strength-based model and emphasizing a culturally competent framework. Helping students find their interests, navigate socio-emotional concerns, establish goals and plans, and feel empowered were just a few things Erica loved about being a school counselor.
During her free time, Erica loves to read, go on hikes, and spend time with family and friends. She enjoys exploring new restaurants, is an avid Harry Potter fan and loves tailgating at Ravens’ games.
