Shaena Moody

Academic Advisor/Success Coach, WSE

As an Academic Advisor/Success Coach in the Whiting School of Engineering, Shaena Moody continues a career of work dedicated to supporting students in their transitions to and within their college experiences.

Shaena studied Elementary Education with a concentration in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Instruction at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She later returned to her alma mater to obtain her master’s degree in Counseling in Student Affairs. During her graduate school experience, she assisted with the ACT 101 Program, a state-funded program for first-generation, limited-income students. There, she developed a mentor program to connect incoming first-year students with faculty and staff on campus. She later moved to work with a similar program at the Pennsylvania State University-Berks Campus as the Program Administrator for the ASPIRE Program.

Shaena came to Hopkins after serving as the Assistant Director of the Summit Program, a rigorous academic program for first-year students who benefited from additional support during their transition from high school to college at La Salle University.
