Interested in a career in public service? Truman Info Sessions 10/29 & 10/31
Interested in a career in government/public service? Please join the National Fellowships Program for two information sessions to learn about an opportunity to fund your graduate studies: the Truman Scholarship. The sessions will be led by NFP Assistant Director and Truman JHU campus representative, Dr. Miller. The first will include a brief presentation by last year’s Johns Hopkins Truman Scholar, Justin Falcone.
Wednesday, October 29, 5-6pm (Lobby of Garland Hall)
Friday, October 31, 12-1pm (JHU Tutorial space, 200 Levering Hall)
The Truman Scholarship provides one year of funding ($30,000) for students to pursue graduate degrees in public service fields as preparation for a career in government or public service. In addition, Truman Scholars participate in leadership development programs and have special opportunities for internships and employment with the federal government. U.S. citizens–who are current juniors–with a strong record of community service, a commitment to a career in public service, and a GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply.
The campus deadline is January 16, 2015. JHU may nominate up to four candidates.
