Card Replacements & Updates
If you can’t find your card, stop by the J-Card Office in Levering Hall 04B to replace it. J-Cards should also be replaced if they are damaged, not working properly, or the photo is no longer recognizable. All affiliates will be accessed a replacement fee of $20 for lost, stolen, or damaged cards.
Changes in role (i.e. undergraduate to graduate; student to staff, new divisional affiliation) do not require card replacement unless the affiliate desires to have the new role displayed on their card. The J-Card will continue to work provided your JHED ID remains active.
Chosen Names
J-Card is one of the downstream systems that receive chosen name updates from the myJH portal. If you would like your chosen name printed on your J-Card, follow these instructions to update your name. It takes 24-48 hours for the new information to transfer to our system and be available for printing. You may wish to call the J-Card Office (410-516-5121) to confirm availability prior to coming to the office. Please note, J-Cards with chosen names may not be accepted to verify your identity in cases where your legal name is required.
As of December 1, 2021, there will be a free one-time replacement of a J-Card to reflect a chosen name. You must bring your old J-Card with you in order to exchange it for a new J-Card with your chosen first name. If you do not have your old J-Card for an exchange, there will be a $20 fee for the new card.
