Opportunity Writing Workshops
This intersession, staff from the JHU National Fellowships Program are offering a series of workshops on how to write compelling essays and C.V.s for a wide range of opportunities: not just fellowships and scholarships, but also graduate and professional school applications, jobs, and more! All sessions will be on Zoom – please click the links below to register. Open to all JHU students and recent graduates.
Workshop #1: Understanding Purpose vs Personal Writing – Monday, January 6, 5:30-6:30 pm (ET) – registration link
In this session, Kathleen Barry will focus on understanding and tackling the two main types of writing called for in applications, “purpose” and “personal” writing.
Workshop #2: Project Statements & Statements of Purpose – Wednesday, January 8, 3-4 pm (ET) – registration link
In this session, John Milstead will focus on writing project statements and statements of purpose for applications.
Workshop #3: Personal Statements – Monday, January 13, 12-1 pm (ET) – registration link
In this session, Chelsey Jones will focus on writing personal statements for applications.
Workshop #4: Telling Your Story Through Your C.V. – Thursday, January 16, 5:30-6:30 pm (ET) – registration link
In this session, Justin Lorts will focus on how to use your C.V. as a tool for telling your story and how to shape it to each opportunity you apply for.
