Brock Turnbaugh, Assistant Director, Student-Athlete Mental Health and Performance (Athletics)

Brock Turnbaugh

 

  • Former Blue Jay – goalie on the Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse team from 2015-2018.
  • Utilizes team/group sessions to help athletes identify top priorities and works with them to address and overcome barriers. These meetings can also be used for general team wellness checks and to help navigate the ups and downs of their season.
  • Provides individual sessions for athletes to discuss challenges unique to them that may be impacting their mental health and/or performance in their sports.
  • Assists athletes to recognize their specific needs, create individualized goals, and establish solutions for their situations.

Jennifer West, LGPC, MHS Clinician/Outreach Coordinator (Mental Health Services)

Jennifer West

 

  • Former rower on the crew team at Temple University.
  • Offers consultations with staff and recreation center student staff to discuss support for the mental health of students.
  • Provides meetings with students to discuss mental health concerns, resources, and services.
  • Acts as a confidential direct clinical service for undergraduate and graduate students with goal-oriented approaches to treatment.

Maura Knestout, Student-Athlete Case Manager (Office of Student Outreach and Support)

 

  • Former cross country and track athlete at Syracuse University and Assistant Cross Country/Track Coach at Johns Hopkins.
  • Offers one-on-one support including interventions, advocacy, referrals, and follow-up services for undergraduate students.
  • Helps students navigate University systems and policies.
  • Assists students in making connections with faculty, staff, and other campus resources.
  • Supports students through physical and mental health concerns, personal and family emergencies, financial issues, and other challenges.
