Laura Stott

Executive Director of Student Engagement

Laura joined the Hopkins community in August of 2018. Laura has more than 25 years of experience working in Higher Education with a strong background in student programming, student center management, student organization involvement and leadership, and shared governance. She oversees our offices of Arts and Innovation, the Digital Media Center, Center for Visual Arts, Leadership Engagement & Experiential Development, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Traditions Programs, and Johns Hopkins Student Centers. She strives to ensure that student life on the Homewood campus is vibrant and evolves to meet the needs of our ever-changing community.

Prior to joining Hopkins, Laura was the Associate Director of Student Involvement at NC State University in Raleigh, NC. Her portfolio included Student Government, Student Organizations, and Operations for the Student Involvement Department. Throughout her career in Student Affairs, Laura has worked in several private and midsize institutions including The University of Miami (FL) and Drexel University where she has advocated for students in the development of co-curricular programs and upgraded union facilities. She has a passion for working with students and staff in the development of student-driven programs and services.

Laura received her B.A. from Virginia Tech in Liberal Arts and Sciences and her M.Ed in Student Personnel in Higher Education from The University of Georgia.
