Urban Agriculture: Community Gardens in Baltimore

Earth Day is Earth Week with Hopkins Dining! Be on the lookout for visits from our local food partners, food waste education stations, highlights of seasonal and sustainable ingredients, and our signature Picnic for the Planet event. In addition, keep up with the Office of Sustainability for more Earth Day events, especially the Earth Day Fair and Nature Walks.

Community Gardens and Local Farms

Baltimore has several community gardens that welcome volunteers and visitors. Here are some examples:

Did you know we have a community garden here at JHU? It’s located at our Eastern campus, just East of Homewood. It’s called Blue Jay’s Perch, and our Sustainability Manager is the advisor! Join us every Saturday (through HopkinsGroups) to work in our communal plots alongside our awesome fellow community members.
