Overview

The In Community Interns (ICI) program places Federal Work Study eligible undergraduates with community partners in Baltimore City. Students will work for 5 hours per week. Alongside this, students participate in bi-weekly 2 hour training and reflection sessions with the CSC and members of the In Community cohort.

Typically, the CSC has 8-10 Community Partners participating in this program. You may express preference in a position on the application, however there is no guarantee of a position with an organization. The CSC matches students and Community Partners based on scheduling.

Expectations and Requirements

Undergraduates of all majors are eligible to apply.

All positions require a full Federal Work Study award of $2700.

Accepted candidates will be compensated $15/hour and will be required to work 5 hours each week with the partner, as well as participating in monthly 2 hour training and reflection sessions with the CSC and members of the ICI cohort. Trainings will focus on CSC core areas of Civic Engagement, Baltimore history, Active Citizenship, and Cultural Humility.

The CSC will do the hiring, process payroll, conduct trainings, and facilitate regular check-ins with interns and their site supervisors. The work will be performed with our community partner sites.
