Christi Owiye, M.A.
Assistant Director, WSE Student Organization Engagement
Christi Owiye joined Johns Hopkins University in December 2022. Christi has a strong background in development, student retention, and strategic communications. As the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Student Engagement in the Whiting School of Engineering, Christi works in close collaboration with Johns Hopkins University’s Leadership Engagement and Experiential Development (LEED) Office to develop programs and initiatives that serve WSE Student clubs and organizations, provide oversight for the student organizations in each engineering department; support student organizations that receive direct funding from the WSE Undergraduate Academic Affairs; coordinate the student engagement platform, Hopkins Groups; and serve as a conduit for the facilitation of student involvement on campus.
Previously, Christi served as a student retention specialist for the Community College of Baltimore County, where she supported several cohorts of nursing students, and a program manager for iMentor Baltimore, where she taught leadership and development to underserved high school students and their mentors.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Christi Owiye holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida and an M.A. from Morgan State University.
