Jacque Gbalipre, M. Ed

Assistant Director, Programming and Traditions

Jacque Gbalipre (Bah-LEE-pray) joined Johns Hopkins University in November 2024. As the Assistant Director of Programming and Traditions, she provides the primary oversight and coordination for campus programming such as Spring Fair, Hoptoberfest, Lighting of the Quads, First/Last Day of Classes, Commemoration Day Ball, and Class Council events. She is responsible for the overall development and implementation of policies and procedures related to programming.

Born and raised in Seattle, WA, Jacque (She/Her) comes from a large family full of artists, writers, musicians, and social justice advocates. She attended Western Washington University and received her B.A. in Sociology and M. Ed. in Adult and Higher Education. Her past professional experience lies in youth in government leadership, mental health counseling, event planning, administrative work, and classroom education. She has a passion for creating collaborative and gracious spaces to foster strong communities within higher education and worked at Maryland Institute College of Art overseeing their Center for Student Engagement before her time at JHU.

Jacque has a cat named Lacey, a pit/lab mix named Ruthie, and a Schnauzer-mix named Mabel. She has a love for all forms of art and has dabbled in sculpture, painting, ceramics, ink work, and is currently practicing tattooing. She enjoys reading murder mystery and psychological thriller novels. Her favorite shows fall into either the comedy or documentary genre.
