NameCoach

Johns Hopkins University offers students the ability to use NameCoach to voice record the preferred pronunciation of their names, and clarify the pronouns people should use to refer to them within select university systems.

Faculty and staff can use the NameCoach recordings to more easily learn the preferred pronunciation of student names by listening to the playback of the audio recordings in the systems listed below.

Recording your name pronunciation in JHU Systems

Students can record the pronunciation of their names in Canvas LMS and in SIS. Only one recording is required, as the recorded name will be available for playback within both systems, as well as other supported university systems as they are added to the NameCoach service in the future.
