Who We Serve

The Office of Pre-Professional Programs and Advising serves full-time undergraduates and alumni of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering who are seeking careers in health care and law.

Vision

To provide exemplary advising services and support that empower students to become successful pre-health and pre-law applicants, and to serve as industry leaders with active an active presence in local and national pre-health advising associations.

Office Mission

As the University leaders in pre-health and pre-law advising, the Office of Pre-Professional Programs and Advising employs thoughtful communication, robust resources, innovative programming, and continuous assessment to serve undergraduates and alumni pursuing professional education in medicine, other health professions, and law.

Goals

Using three pillars of Exploration, Reflection, and Application, we support and assist students as they:

• Pursue academics that support individual interests, fulfill university requirements, and promote diverse learning
• Explore their motivation for pursuing pre-health and pre-law pathways
• Identify resources for meaningful pre-professional interests and experiences within and beyond the Hopkins community
• Engage in experiences that demonstrate an understanding of professional competencies
• Address and overcome academic, personal, or professional challenges
• Maintain physical and mental wellness and self-care
• Prepare a successful pre-professional application.
