Zuri (Obado) Bennett, MA
Assistant Director
Ms. Obado joined the Office of Pre-Professional Advising in July 2022 as an Assistant Director but has been with the Blue Jay family since February 2017. She joined Hopkins as the Academic Advisor for the graduate Post-Baccalaureate in Advanced Academic Programs unit of KSAS and, in 2021, became the Interim Program Director, where she continued to serve pre-med students and alumni. Ms. Obado received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University and her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine. As a first-generation student and with 10 years in higher education and educational access and equity work, Ms. Obado continues in her passion for helping diverse populations of students develop academically and professionally. As Assistant Director, Ms. Obado looks to continue in her mission to increase opportunities for students pursuing careers in science and medicine while also continuing in efforts that address justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and professional spaces.
Favorite spot on campus: Not sure yet! I moved to Homewood during COVID. So, we will see.
Favorite restaurant/ food/ meal: It’s a tie between shrimp tacos and bacon!
Fun Fact: I am both an only child and 1 of 7…riddle me that!
